|
Kim was born in Kentville, Nova Scotia. She was writing music and playing it
professionally by the age of 13 years. By 19, she was well embedded in
Toronto's burgeoning music scene, playing clubs, concerts, studio sessions and
jingles, with some of the most prestigious musicians on the Canadian scene. No stranger to travel, Kim has performed throughout Canada, as well as Los Angeles, New York, Florida and Great Britain. In 2004, she toured through the Dieppe and Normandy area of France with the New Brunswick based production of "Dieppe, Dieppe". Kim is a versatile performer and vocal stylist, drawing upon classics and
standards from all generations of the Great American Songbook, as well as
popular music forms from the 20's through to music of the new millennium. She
has written music for CBC productions, film, political functions, concert and
recording ventures. Kim's original material is sophisticated, with a sincerity
that touches mind, heart and soul. She leads her ensemble with a quiet
confidence and commitment that suggests her wide range of experiences in an
already extensive musical career. Back to Jazz Combos |
