The Greene Irish Dance Troupe

  The School

The dance school consists of 65 dancers of various ages and skill levels, ages range between 6 and 21 years.

The Students themselves represent the very best that Nova Scotia has in this particular cultural art, and frequently travel out of Province to compete, typically this includes annual trips to Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Maine and others. This year’s trip to the Montreal / Ottawa area, saw 41 students compete and return with 211 medals and 11 major trophies.

The calibre of the school is such that it has produced 10 dancers that qualified to compete at the Eastern Canadian Regional Championships, 5 dancers qualify to represent our school at the North American Championships and a World Championship Qualifying dancer, this to say the least is an achievement in itself.

The school is a not for profit organization dedicated to maintaining Irish Culture through the medium of Traditional Irish Dance, and receives no support from either Government or the Arts Council, private donations and sponsorships are used to fund travel costs to competitions further a field.

The school is taught by Beth Greene. To learn more about the leader of this group please click here.
