CELTIC

Celtic music has been enjoying an incredible revival in recent years, and Nova Scotia is recognized worldwide for its celtic traditions and outstanding musicians. Celtic music includes Scottish, Irish and Acadian styles, all of which are distinctive. The beautiful music of Cape Breton Island strongly represents the island's heritage and traditions and is unique. Many outstanding international performers began their careers playing in Cape Breton's local community halls, churches, etc. and have not forgotten their celtic roots. Celtic music today is used in rock bands, in combination with symphony orchestras, by choirs, etc. often creating a unique "fusion" between the old and new.

Examples of celtic groups include fiddle and guitar duo; celtic harps; celtic bands which can bring the house down with their jigs and reels and move you with beautiful airs; costumed Irish and Scottish dance groups; bagpipes; etc.

To create a memorable event, consider using some of Nova Scotia's fine solo artists. Walt Music can book major performers for a cameo appearance or a full concert at your event.
